Season context: Germany reached the round of 16 at Euro 2020, played in 2021, with Toni Kroos appearing in all four of their matches. Their group campaign included a defeat to France, a 4-2 victory over Portugal and a 2-2 draw with Hungary. Joachim Löw's team then lost 2-0 to England at Wembley, bringing his tenure as national coach to an end. This Adidas home shirt, featuring Kroos's number 8, corresponds to that tournament and links the midfielder with the final major competition of Löw's time in charge.
